Hi Ryan I have spoken with Jon Moser about the ability to handle the wastewater connection (and detention if required) outside of the current building consent – so they are held up while we resolve the big picture issue regarding wastewater network capacity in this area. It appears that the applicant can apply for an amendment that removes the buildings wastewater discharge control and connection to the public network handled under either a future amendment or a separate building (small works) consent. They can respond to the last RFI stating that the sites wastewater discharge methodology was still unclear/unresolved, but there were ongoing discussions with Wellington Water, and that this would be handled either under a amendment to the building consent of a new building consent. We would ned to work with the BC team to ensure there was a condition requiring an approved system to be in place prior to CCC. Mike/Mark Stretton has advised that they would expect the refitting to be completed in 6-9 months and discharge to be from that time. He is happy to proceed with a deferred solution. He also confirmed that the area the tanks, if required, are to site would not be built over by the works under the current (refurbishment) BC – this is a driveway. We would also need to place a condition that the existing wastewater lateral/connection (over 25 years old) cannot be reused. If you are happy with this approach I will draft up some conditions for Samir and contact the property owner/agents regarding the RFI response. Do you have a preference for a new separate building consent (which I think we should volunteer to pay for) or a amendment?
