Official Information Act Request – Our Reference 2016/280
Thank you for your letter received by Capital and Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) on 30 November
2016, in which under the Official Information Act 1982 you requested information relating to Accident
& Medical (A&M) presentations.
The request asks for the fol owing:
1. The number of presentations to Kenepuru 24 hour Accident and Medical Clinic (KAMC) by hour and
area within Porirua presented by individual suburb usage information. On further clarification you
requested the information to go back 10 years from 2006 – 2016. Please find attached the
information as requested.
2. The average presentation by hour and day of the week for Wellington Emergency Department (ED).
On further clarification you requested the information go back 10 years. Please find attached
information as requested.
3. The waiting times for Wel ington ED and KAMC by hour and day of the week. Waiting time
information for ED and KAMC is affected by different treatment streams i.e. some patients are seen
and discharged directly from triage, some are treated by nurses and discharged, and some have
treatment initiated by nurses long before they see a doctor. There are also differences between
how ED and KAMC waiting times are calculated. For these reasons the waiting times information is
not available as you have requested.
You have a right to seek a review, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act, by way of a
complaint to the Ombudsman, about the information that has been provided to you.
