From: Paul Barker <[email address]> To: Councillor Sarah Free <[email address]> Cc: Joe Hewitt <[email address]>, Councillor Andy Foster <[email address]> Remember the Island Bay cycleway is only 1.4m wide. Where the lane is adjacent to parking we have added a buffer of 0.6m effectively making the parking space 2.6m wide. From: Councillor Sarah Free Sent: Wednesday, 24 February 2016 8:37 a.m. To: Paul Barker Cc: Joe Hewitt; Councillor Andy Foster Subject: Guidelines for cycling infrastructure used by Auckland Transport? Hi Paul, Just noticed that Auckland Transport seem to have a minimum width of 1.8 m rather than 2.0 m for protected cycleways such as Island Bay in a 50 kph area. Or maybe I am misinterpreting something. The guidelines are dated 2013, so just wondering are they still current? And would this have any implications for the Island Bay cycleway if we needed to make some adjustments?
