Kia ora Matt,

Gosh I am so sorry, I didn’t press send on my email.

We (KDC) are not progressing any further investigations into WtE

We sent this press release out on  4 July: Waste to energy plant for the private sector (kaipara.govt.nz)

We have not been approached by NBR.

Am hoping we are not too late for you, as this changes your response. Happy for you to share our media release with them if needed.

Ngâ mihi

Ruby

Hi team

Just wanted to make you aware we have received the enquiry below from NBR.

This is what the Auckland Mayor’s office will say in response:

Kaipara Mayor Craig Jepson is leading looking into this on behalf of the mayors of Northland and Auckland.

If this is proven viable and a plant is built, some of Auckland’s waste could be transferred there.

We will hold off on responding until tomorrow morning to give you a chance to prepare your own response, assuming you have also been approached.

It would be helpful if you could please share anything you plan to say, too.

Kind regards

Matt

Hi I’m doing a story on waste to energy plants and got an email back from South Island Resource Recovery Ltd saying this -

“SIRRL was asked by the Mayors of Auckland and Northland to supply data for a feasibility study regarding a potential Energy from Waste plant to be built in the North Island.  The next steps will be made by the Mayors in consultation with their council and communities.”

Can you update where this has got to with the Mayors please.

Thanks Fiona
