Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
  a list of 2013 Census meshblocks and geographic centroid locations that have had the 
geographic centroid locations for them calculated 
  a list of 2013 Census area units and geographic centroid locations that have had the 
geographic centroid locations for them calculated 
  a list of 2013 Census urban areas and geographic centroid locations that have had the 
geographic centroid locations for them calculated 
  a list of 2013 Census territorial authorities and geographic centroid locations that have 
had the geographic centroid locations for them calculated. 
 
Statistics NZ has supplied the data requested and accompanying technical notes in the files 
listed below:

For the purpose of your request, the centroids were calculated as ‘true’ centroids. Please refer 
to the technical notes for further details.  
 
Please  note  that  within  the  urban  areas,  there  are  a  number  of  areas  for  which  the  use  of 
centroid is not appropriate. This is where there are a large number of rural centres. Therefore, 
Statistics  NZ  advises  that  you  do  not  include  urban  area  codes  greater  than  500  in  your 
analysis (i.e. '501', '502', '505', '506', '507', '510', and '511'). For more information, please refer
