May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations 
e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you 
have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. How 
many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. Also, can I request to view the 
appointment letter if there is one sent to the appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal 
information. 
 
I have considered your request under the Act. 
 
The role was advertised on the MBIE website, Seek.co.nz and Jobs.govt.nz. There were 61 applications 
received for the role. There were 26 nominations from the Ministry for Women, of which one person 
applied, and 3 nominations from the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, where 2 people applied.  
 
14 people were shortlisted, 9 people were interviewed and one person withdrew during the interview 
process. Three new members (Mariette van Ryn, Tracey Berry and Nick Hegan), and existing member 
(Christopher Swasbrook) were appointed as members by the Governor-General.
