Response to your request for Official Information  
On 30 August 2024, you requested the following information from Te Kāhui Tika Tangata | Human 
Rights Commission (“the Commission”) under the Official Information Act 1982 (“OIA”): 
a.  Under the OIA, please provide me the total cost of undertaking the poll referred to at the 
following link:

b. Please also provide me with the details (including the total costs) of any other qualitative or 
quantitative research the Human Rights Commission has asked third parties to undertake in 
the last three years relating to the Treaty of Waitangi. 
 
a. Cost of research 
The results that were published in that press release were from a survey on human rights and related 
issues for which the Commission paid a total of $7,700 (excl GST). 
b. Details of other research relating to the Treaty of Waitangi 
The Commission has not commissioned any other qualitative or quantitative research from third 
parties that specifically relates to Te Tiriti o Waitangi | Treaty of Waitangi in the last three years. Te 
Tiriti o Waitangi informs all of our work in varying ways but no other piece of primary research has 
been as focussed on the Treaty as the research referred to above at (a).
