Thank you for your request of 27 August 2024, for the following information under 
the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
Do you have, or have you had, an energy expert advisory group set up? 
If so, when was it set up, who are the members, what are its terms of 
reference, what specific matters have you asked for advice on, and what 
reports or communications have you received from that group. If it no longer 
operates when did the group end 
As Minister for Energy, I have not set up any expert advisory groups. Therefore, I 
am refusing your request under section 18(e) of the Act, as the information 
requested does not exist. 
I note that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has 
established stakeholder relationships and holds regular discussions with key 
stakeholders. MBIE also works with other regulatory agencies, such as the Electricity 
Authority, Gas Industry Company, Energy Ef iciency and Conservation Authority and 
Commerce Commission to inform their advice to me. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the 
decision to withhold information relating to this request, in accordance with section 
28(3) of the Act. The relevant details can be found at:
