I write in response to your request dated 20 August 2024, for information under the Of icial
Information Act 1982:
How many houses are currently built at Burberry Karaka Auckland as of August 2024;
Is the KAINGA ORA interactive map updated, current, and accurate of that information;
Are there two bedroom duplexes in the development project at Karaka?
When wil the two bedroom duplexes be built, available to be matched with tenants;
The potential tenant is on the waiting list for social housing; the rating is A20; individual, no
children.........................eviction history...........can they be declined social housing due to
the history?
Provide information relating to placement team KAINGA ORA policies, matching potential
tenants, and how many regional managers does Auckland have;
Who is the final decision maker, is it the board of trustees, regional manager, support
worker of KAINGA ORA?
I can advise that Kāinga Ora has built twenty-four new homes in Burberry Road, Karaka
comprising 2 x six bedroom homes, 2 x five bedroom homes, 6 x four bedroom homes, 6 x three
bedroom homes and 8 x two bedroom homes. As at 9 September 2024 the online map is current
for this address. The two bedroom properties were built and handed over to be available for letting
on 3 September 2024; we are currently in the process of matching these properties.
Kāinga Ora has two documents which guide our approach to matching an applicant or customer to
a home:
• Guidelines for matching applicants and customers to a suitable home (CT-GDL-006)
• Policy: Match to a suitable home (POL-354)
