Kaipara District Council has received a private plan change request from The Rise Ltd. Please forward this email to anyone else within your organization that should also see this email.

The purpose of the plan change is to rezone an area north of Mangawhai. The key features of the plan change are:

• To rezone 56.9ha of Rural Zoned land at Cove Road and Mangawhai Heads Road to Residential Zoning, including consequential amendments to the Operative Kaipara District Plan Maps;
• The creation of a precinct over the residential zoned land with provisions that aim to protect ecological features, promote high-quality urban design, and provide open space and connectivity; and
• Any necessary consequential amendments to the Operative Kaipara District Plan provisions.

The Rise Ltd will be open for submissions on Tuesday 25 July 2023. All information relating to this proposal can be found on Council’s website here: www.kaipara.govt.nz/the-rise. You can also ask a Customer Services team member at either the Mangawhai or Dargaville office or at your local Library to show you the information.

It is noted that Council is planning to notify the public in local Mangawhai papers starting from Monday 17 July 2023. The formal submission period will begin on Tuesday 25 July 2023 when the rest of the District will be notified and when all the will be on the Kaipara District Council website. Submissions must be made in writing and received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 23 August 2023.

There is also a downloadable pdf copy of Form 5. Hardcopy Form 5’s will be available from our offices in Mangawhai and Dargaville as well as from the Kaipara district libraries.
