Dear Liz
I refer to your request made under the Official Information Act, received on 27 April
2023. You requested:
1. Any documents provided by the Treasury to the Covid-19 Royal Commission
of Inquiry.
2. Any correspondence between staff employed by the Treasury, and Tony
Blakely, Hon Hekia Parata or John Whitehead.
3. Any correspondence between staff employed by the Treasury, and staff
employed by the Covid-19 Royal Commission of Inquiry.
On 16 May 2023, I responded to your request and provided a summary of the
administrative correspondence between The Treasury and the Royal Commission of
Inquiry captured by parts 2 and 3 of your request. On the same day, you requested
copies of this correspondence.
I have decided under section 15A of the Official Information Act to extend the time limit
for deciding on your request by an additional 15 working days. The new due date for
responding to your request is Friday 16 June 2023.
The extension is required because of the consultations needed to make a decision on
your request. This extension will also apply to the time limit for transferring your
request, should this become relevant.
Notwithstanding this extension, I will decide on your request as soon as reasonably
practicable.
You may ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review this decision.
Yours sincerely
John Beaglehole
