Dear John Luke
Thank you for your request, received on 4 February 2023, for the following information regarding
the Security and Reliability Council (SRC) under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
•
“May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you
have call for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many
applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women
etc. further, how many you have shortlisted.
•
Please also supply the current member's term of appointment and their pay
rate.”
The Electricity Authority’s (Authority) call for nominations for the SRC was published in the
Authority’s Market Brief on 6 December 2022 supported with social media posts on Twitter and
LinkedIn. Market Brief is a weekly newsletter which is emailed out to subscribers and provides
updates on regulatory and market developments and other Authority news. Please see Appendix A
for website links to the call for nominations and the reminders published by the Authority on the
various platforms. Each of these linked to the Authority’s website which contained additional
information regarding nominations for the SRC. This webpage was live from 6 December 2022 to 7
February 2023 before being archived.
The Authority received seven applications. Four from members of the public who nominated
themselves and three nominations were made by electricity industry participants. There is no
shortlisting process as all seven applicants are being considered.
Please see Appendix B for the current SRC members pay rates and terms.
