Official Information Act request about strategic resilience plans in New Zealand cities
Thank you for your Official Information Act (OIA) request of 25 December 2022.
You have requested:
“TO: National Emergency Management Agency,
For various reasons major global cities have implemented strategic
resilience plans in the form of '15-minute cities' similar to the City of
Melbourne's '20-minute neighbourhood'.
(see www.weforum.org/videos/paris-is-planning-to-become-a-15-minute-
city-897c12513b)
(see www.planmelbourne.vic.gov.au/current-projects/20-minute-
neighbourhoods)
Please inform:
Does the Government of New Zealand and/or its agencies have intentions
to adopt and impose such systems in New Zealand cities?”
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) does not hold information relating to
your request. We believe the information you have requested is more closely connected with
the functions of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).
I have decided under sections 14(b)(i) and 14(b)(ii) to transfer your request in full to DIA. DIA
has the usual timeframes under the OIA from receipt of this transfer to make a decision on
your request.
Yours sincerely
Sarah Holland
