Thank you for Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request dated 27 October 2022 in which you
requested:
I am writing to request a complete list of Registered Network Providers, as defined under the
Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013. If possible, I respectful y
request, that the information be provided as follows.
1)
Complete list of Registered Network Providers who have full interception capability, as
defined under sections 3, 9 and 10 of the Act;
In relation to this part of the request this is withheld under section 6(c) of the OIA, as the making
available of the information is likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law including the prevention,
investigation and detection of offences and the right to a fair trial and section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the OIA, to
protect information where the making available of the information would be likely unreasonably to
prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information.
2)
Complete list of Registered Network Providers who have Lower-level compliance duties;
In relation to this part of the request this is withheld under section 6(c) and section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the
OIA.
5)
List of Government Agencies or State-Owned Enterprises that must be compliant with the Act,
whether they have registered or not.
In relation to this part of the request this is withheld under section 6(c) and section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the
OIA.
6)
I would like to amend my earlier request to also include copies of all direction and regulations
issued under the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013, if any
exist.
In relation to this part of the request this is partially withheld under section 6(c) and section 9(2)(b)(ii)
of the OIA, however the URL for the below Government Gazette notice which is publicly available is
provided to assist.

I also ask for a list of network providers or class of network providers who have been granted
an exemption from any or al of the requirements under this Act.
