Thank you for your email
of 31 August 2022 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I would like to see all correspondence/information held by the nzta relating to the
implementation of digital drivers licences please.
This letter is to advise you that under section 15 of the Act, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has
made a decision to grant your request. The documents are currently being prepared for release and
wil be provided to you as soon as practicable, either on or before 28 October 2022.
Within the information that wil be released to you, personal information of external parties will be
withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. This section allows for the withholding of information in order
to protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons.
Questions to, and advice from, the Waka Kotahi inhouse legal team will also be withheld under section
9(2)(h) of the Act in order to maintain legal professional privilege. Free and frank expressions of
opinion will be withheld under section 9(2)(g)(i) of the Act.
There are also a number of documents fal ing within scope of your request which are publicly available
and have therefore been declined under section 18(d) of the Act. The titles of these documents and
