REF: OIA-11614

Dear Richard

Extension of time to response to request made under the Official Information Act 1982

Thank you for your email of 30 November 2022 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):

[…] I thought the OIA was very clear in the information being sought, and nothing you have
provided to date answers it, so for a final time:- ‘Please can you therefore provide the reports
that state this 17,000vpd figure and ALL supporting documents / communications / calculations
(digital / written) that were used to determine that 17,000 vpd figure.’

This letter is to advise that Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days
available to us to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We require an
additional 5 working days and wil  send you a response on or before 25 January 2023.

The deadline is being extended because of the consultation necessary to make a decision on your
request, meaning that a proper response to your request cannot reasonably be made within the 20-
working day limit.

Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
extend this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.

If you would like to discuss this extension, please email [NZTA request email].

Yours sincerely
