Official Information Act request relating to impacts analysis of lockdowns 
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) request partially transferred from the 
Office of Hon Ayesha Verrall on 8 August 2022. Specifical y, you requested: 
“3. Please also provide any and al  correspondence between DPMC, Ministry of 
Defence, NZ Police, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education about forecast lockdowns 
from January 2022 to todays date. Please include any and al  specialist teams that might 
be working directly on locking Kiwis down. 
4. Please provide all correspondence between these agencies about further restrictions
to current settings, legal justification, legal opinions, and and all legal work done to
justify draconian lockdowns."
On 29 August 2022, we informed you that part 3 of your information request was refused under 
section 18(g) of the Act, as the information requested is not held by the Department of the Prime 
Minister and Cabinet.  
In response to part 4 of your request, on 29 August 2022 we emailed you to refine your request, 
as the existing request wording would lead to a refusal due to substantial col ation. As we have 
not received a response from you, I have decided to refuse this part of your request under section 
18(f)  of the Act, as the information requested cannot be made available without substantial 
collation or research. 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under section 
28(3) of the Act. 
We do not intend to publish this response on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s 
website.
