We refer to your information request dated 27 June 2022 made under the Official Information Act 
1982. You have requested information regarding entry to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) 
programme via the General category for 2022. 
 
We note that we contacted you 28 June 2022 and 13 July 2022 seeking clarification on which General 
category of entry to the 2022 BDS programme you were requesting information for.  
 
Your response of 21 July 2022 advised that you were requesting the information for the Health 
Sciences First Year (HSFY) General category. 
 
We set out our response to your request below. 
 
1. What is the lowest average to receive a waitlist offer for the BDS via the HSFY general 
category for 2022? 
 
The minimum average academic score to receive an offer to be on the waitlist for the 2022 BDS 
programme via the HSFY general category was 76.71. 
 
2. What is the lowest successful average to receive an offer for the BDS via the HSFY general 
category for 2022? 
 
Of the applicants to accept their offer to be on the waitlist, the minimum average academic score to 
receive an offer to enter the 2022 BDS programme from the waitlist via the HSFY General category 
was 88.71. 
 
3. How many applicants were admitted to the BDS via the HSFY general category for 2022? 
 
There were 24 applicants who accepted their offers for entry to the 2022 BDS programme via the 
HSFY General category.
