Official information request for rate of acceptance into psychology
internship programmes
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
dated 22 June 2022:
“I would like to find out the number of applications and successful applicants
into the following psychology internship programmes in the past five years
(2017-2022):
Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology Practice Postgraduate
Diploma in Clinical Psychology Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology
Practice
I would also like the numbers to be broken down by internal applicants (current
VUW students) and external applicants (students from other institutions).”
The figures in the tables below are provided for the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational
Psychology Practice (PGDipEPP) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology
(PGDipPsych(Clin)). The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology Practice
(PGDipHlthPsyc) is to be introduced in 2023. Therefore there is no relevant data to
provide for this course.
The figures in brackets refers to those who completed or studied towards a qualification
at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington (the University) previously or
identified the University as their last place of study. The University cannot identify which
of those were current students without substantial collation and research. Therefore, this
aspect of your request is refused in accordance with s18(f) of the Act.
