Extending the time to response to your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 16 June 2022 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
Could you please provide me with a copy of the safety audits of the current Penlink design. 
 
Due of the current stage of this project, including working through design changes with the preferred 
tenderer, we believe that a discussion with you ahead of forming a final decision on your request 
would be beneficial.  If you can please contact us at [NZTA request email] with a 
preferred contact number, we will arrange for a staff member to contact you to discuss your request.  
 
In accordance with section 15A of the Act, in order to enable the above consultation to take place, we 
are extending the timeframe for making a decision on your request by an additional 15 working days. 
We will now provide you with a response to your request no later than 5 August. However, we expect 
that these discussions will mean that a final decision and response can be provided sooner.   
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review our decision to 
extend the time we will take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the
