Thank you for your further request under the Official Information Act (“OIA”) dated 21 June 2022.
You have requested:
Al NZ On Air documents and communications that mention the propaganda term 'IndoPacific' or
'Indo Pacific' from 2015 to present.
Please see our response to your request:
We note your clarification regarding the period in which you have requested ‘documents’ and
‘communications’.
However, we note that ‘documents’ and ‘communications’ have not been further clarified. A thorough
search of al staff emails and internal computer documents would require extensive IT resources and
time. We decline an internal search as part of your request under Section 18(f) of the OIA as this
information could not be provided without substantial col ation or research.
As such, we have limited the scope under your request and have interpreted ‘documents’ and
‘communications’ as meaning outward facing publications and web pages NZ On Air has external y
published. Considering this, we have limited the scope of our search to:
Research publications
Media Releases
Information published on the NZ On Air website
Industry emails
And to exclude internal emails and documents provided to NZ On Air from third parties.
We note that none of these types of documents from 2015 to present include the term “Indo Pacific” or
“Indo-Pacific”. As such, we decline your request under Section 18(e) of the OIA as the document(s)
al eged to contain the information requested does not exist.

You have the right to refer this response to the Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with it. More
