Information Request – CRM Secondment Canterbury & Pink Shirt Day 
 
I refer to your official information request dated 09 June 2022 regarding the secondment to the 
CRM position within the Canterbury District and 'Pink Shirt' day. 
 
The Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) requires that we advise you of our decision on your 
request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.  Unfortunately, it 
will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an 
extension of the time to make our decision, to 19 August 2022. 
 
 
The reason for the extension is that your request necessitates a search through a large quantity of 
information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations. 
Furthermore, the consultations necessary to make a decision on your request, including with 
external agencies, are such that a proper response to your request cannot reasonably be made 
within the original time limit. 
As your request captures information about the employment status of a specific individual, it 
would help us to assess the public interest in its release, if you were to provide further information 
about the purpose of your request. You are not required to provide this information. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
