RE Official Information Act request CDHB 10899
We refer to your email dated 7 June 2022 to Ministry of Health which they subsequently transferred to us on
15 June 2022 requesting the following information under the Official Information Act from
Waitaha
Canterbury / Te Tai o Poutini West Coast
1. The total number of procedures outsourced by year (including the year to date) for the past five
years.
2. For each year, provide a breakdown of the type of procedure.
3. For each year, provide the total spend on outsourced elective surgeries.
4. For each year, provide the amount that these surgeries would have cost the DHBs if they had not
been outsourced.
We are working on our response to your request, however, right now the work involved for dealing with
Omicron/Covid for our health system must take priority.
This means that a response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
The
Waitaha Canterbury / Te Tai o Poutini West Coast therefore require further time prior to issuing our
responses. The period of the extension is until 12 August 2022. We will use our best endeavours to provide
you with our response before that date.
We are permitted to make this extension under Section 15A of the Official Information Act 1982 and you
have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about our decision to extend the time for responding.
