Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 16 May 2022 in which 
you asked for; a copy of all police chapters on the New Zealand Police Intranet 
(tenone.police.govt.nz) that can be publicly released. 
There are currently 583 Police manual chapters located within Police Instructions. Many 
of these policies have been previously released under the OIA and will be published on 
Police's internet site within the next six weeks,  accessible here: 
https ://www. police. govt. nz/about-us/pu blications/corporate/police-manual-chapters. As 
such, your request has been refused under section 18(d) of the OIA, as the information 
you are requesting will soon be publicly available. 
Police manual chapters that have yet to be released through the OIA or via proactive 
publication are also refused under section 18(f) of the OIA, whereby the information 
requested cannot be made available without substantial collation, however, the Police 
Instructions Team are progressively uploading Police manual chapters to the Police 
website with an aim to proactively release the Police manual within the next 12 months.

interest. You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision if you are not 
satisfied with the response to your request. Information about how to make a complaint is
