In a recent Pulse Newsletter the SCDHB's Intranet was explained, and 
can be accessed from outside the hospitals computers. 
 
What processes or procedures are in place to stop staff accessing 
patient records they should not be looking at OR alert administrators 
to staff accessing patient records they should not be looking at? 
 
Will a patent be able to log in and view their own Health Records? 
 
SCDHBs intranet is a restricted communications network that requires a person to be a staff member or 
selected stakeholder of SCDHB to login using a unique username and password. SCDHBs intranet is not a 
portal to patient records. Patient records is a separate and unrelated system.
