1.  When was this scheme/project introduced? 
 
The project was launched in February 2009  
 
2.  Is it Hospital wide or limited to ward 3? 
 
The project was launched in Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Ward in March 2009, Medical Ward 
May 2009 and Surgical Ward August 2009. 
 
3.  Please release the initial surveys and progress reports that state how well this project is going,  
what changes need to be made and are targets being met?  
 
Please see business case for ‘Releasing Time to Care’ and initial project reports for the Ministry of Health 
from July 2010 to May 2012 attached. 
 
4.  Do you have the Nurses Union Backing for this project? 
 
This project was part of a national programme initiated throughout a number of District Health Boards by 
the Ministry of Health. There were no concerns raised by New Zealand Nurses Organisation.
