[FYI request #18586 email]
Tēnā koe Alistair
Thank you for your email of 17 February 2022 to the Ministry of Education requesting the
following information:
 I would like to get a copy of all information and communication concerning
COVID-19 provided to Wairarapa based high schools between 11/02/2022 and
17/02/2022? If possible, sorted by school and date sent, in searchable pdf format.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
For the period of 11 to 17 February 2022, the Ministry provided ongoing support and advice
to schools, including around managing positive COVID-19 cases in their settings. This has
involved close communication between the schools, the Ministry of Health and our officials to
assist schools with logging their positive cases, ordering rapid antigen test kits and direct
delivery to them so there was no lag time in courier-based delivery.
We have also provided one-to-one advice where needed, as this has been a rapidly evolving
environment with numerous changes to our advice and guidelines based on changes to
COVID-19 Alert levels and phases. In many cases, this contact is by telephone, and, given
the need to provide timely advice in a pressurised setting, detailed notes of each call are not
always made.
We have therefore interpreted your request to relate to written information and
communication only and have identified two pieces of correspondence within that scope. We
are providing these to you as the attached Appendix A, with our decision as to their release
outlined in the Appendix A Document Table below
The Ministry has also regularly been providing guidance through our bulletins to the sector,
which can be found online here: https://bulletins.education.govt.nz/.
For the period 11 to 17 February 2022, the following specific bulletins may be of interest to
you:

Please note, the Ministry now proactively publishes OIA responses on our website. As such,
we may publish this response on our website after five working days. Your name and contact
details will be removed.
