Thank you for your email of 23 January 2022 requesting information relating to information 
given in OIA17-0498. Your request has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 
1982 (OIA). 
 
Your request is as follows: 
 
“a foot note in the publication animal welfare in New Zealand reads 10 Email from 
Samantha Rickard (Adviser, Official Information Act, Officer of the Director-General, 
Ministerial and Business Support, Ministry for Primary Industries) to Elisabeth 
Larsen (Assistant Research Fellow), regarding “Your Official Information Act 
Request - Reference OIA17-0498” (18 October 2017); and letter attached from 
Stephanie Rowe (Director, Compliance Services, Ministry for Primary Industries) to 
Elisabeth Larsen (Assistant Research Fellow), regarding “OFFICIAL INFORMATION 
ACT REQUEST” (18 October 2017) at 1.3 and 4.2.  
 
Could you please urgently supply a copy of the documents mentioned at foot note 
10 OIA 17 0498 and the letter we require them for a court matter which is currently 
before the courts  
 
MPI has interpreted your request to be for a copy of the response letter and release of 
information provided to Elisabeth Larsen under OIA17-0498. The information is released to 
you as at ached.
