It says by December 2019 "Internal Affairs wil  monitor whether the private sector provides 
a solution and the extent to which this addresses the problem. Internal Affairs wil  consider 
if further action is required to stimulate the market." also "Should the market stil  not 
provide a suitable photographic document, Internal Affairs could consider further actions, 
such as procuring the document and relooking at a government-issued document." 
Can I please request any updated reports etc you have made on this topic?’ 
I am writing to inform you that the timeframe to respond to your request has been extended 
by 10 working days, to 21 January 2022. 
This extension is made subject to section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations necessary to 
make a decision on the request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made 
within the original time limit. However, we will still endeavour to provide the response to 
you earlier if possible.  
The date of 21 January 2022 takes into account the summer holiday period from 25 
December 2021 to 15 January 2022 inclusive, as provided by the Ombudsman
