Official  Information  Act  request  for  documents  from  18  October  2021  Cabinet 
meeting on COVID-19 Alert Levels 
 
Thank  you  for  your  request  made  under  the  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act), 
received on 18 October 2021. You requested: 
 
“Under the OIA, I request all Cabinet papers and other material considered by 
Cabinet today that include or reference advice from officials and/or outside 
experts on appropriate Covid levels for Auckland, Northland, Waikato and the 
rest of New Zealand.” 
 
I  believe  that  the  information  you  have  requested  is  more  closely  connected  to  the 
functions  of  the  Minister  for  COVID-19  Response,  Hon  Chris  Hipkins.  Accordingly,  I 
have  decided  under  section  14(b)(ii)  of  the  Act  to  transfer  your  request  to  Minister 
Hipkins, as the Minister Responsible for the COVID-19 Response. 
 
Minister Hipkins has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer to 
make a decision on your request.
