Official Information Act request relating to the COVID-19 vaccination statuses of 
Government ministers 
 
Thank  you  for  your  request  made  under  the  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act), 
received on 12 October 2021. You requested: 
 
“I  would  like  to  know  if  goverment  ministers  and  any  other  groups  are  exempt 
from the covid vaccine, please.” 
 
I  believe  that  the  information  you  have  requested  is  more  closely  connected  to  the 
functions  of  the  Minister  for  COVID-19  Response,  Hon  Chris  Hipkins.  Accordingly,  
I  have  decided  under  section  14(b)(ii)  of  the  Act  to  transfer  your  request  to  the  
Minister for COVID-19 Response, Hon Chris Hipkins. 
 
Minister Hipkins has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer to 
make a decision on your request.
