Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health (the Ministry) on 11 October 2021 for information relating to contact tracing. You
requested:
“…an updated table that contains:
a) the number of Bluetooth key uploads and alerts
b) the number of QR code GLN uploads and alerts (both number of locations and
number of devices
One document has been found within scope of your request (copy attached). Document one
provides the number of Bluetooth key updates and alerts and the number of QR code uploads
and alerts between 17 August 2021 and 1 October 2021.
You also requested information on:
“the number of cases who were tested because they received an NZ COVID Tracer alert”
Information on whether cases were tested because they received an NZ COVID Tracer alert is
not information routinely recorded in the National Contact Tracing Solution, noting there are
many reasons cases get tested. Therefore, this part of your request is refused under section
18(e) as the information requested does not exist.
I trust this information fulfils your request. Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to
ask the Ombudsman to review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may
be contacted by email at:
[email address] or by calling 0800 802 602.
Please note that this response, with your personal details removed, may be published on the
Ministry website at:
