Official  Information  Act  request  relating  to  all  Cabinet  papers  on  the  management  of 
COVID-19 in New Zealand prisons 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act (the Act), received on 1 
October 2021. You requested: 
 
“Please provide me with all cabinet papers relating to the management of COVID-19 in 
New Zealand prisons and the Department of Corrections’ COVID-19 response strategy.” 
 
I believe that the information you have requested is more closely connected with the functions 
of the Department of Corrections. Accordingly, I have decided under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act 
to transfer your request to the Department of Corrections. 
 
The  Department  of  Corrections  has the  usual  timeframes  under  the  Act from receipt  of this 
transfer to make a decision on your request.
