Regarding your request under the Official Information Act:
I would like to know if Auckland University of Technology has any sort of committee or advisory
board within any faculty or school that involved external (general public) person. I have only find
out there is one called advisory board from Business school. Are there any others?
If you do have, please provide the name of current members of each of your committees or
advisory boards within any faculty or school that involved external (general public) person. Also
their bio if available. The term of reference of these committees and the pay rate of each external
person.
I have attached AUT’s Council Advisory Committees Policy. As you will see this indicates a wide range
of situations where these committees might be formed. AUT does not hold this information in a
centralized place and given the amount of resource required to process your request we have
decided to charge for making the information available.
We estimate the maximum charge to work with our seventeen schools to identify committees, their
memberships and what, if any biographical information is held would be $4,896 and any amount not
used would be refunded.
Before we proceed with your request, please confirm your agreement to the charge. We wil then
arrange for you to pay this amount before the work commences. Given the time of the year – AUT is
focused on completing learning, teaching and assessments – and the additional pressure on
resources created by the lockdown, we anticipate we would be able to begin working on this request
at the end of Semester 2.
If you would like to discuss how you can reduce or refine your request, so we are able to reduce or
remove the need to charge, please contact me.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
