[FYI request #16699 email] Re: Official Information Act Request – Datix Midland Integrated Quality and Risk System
Kia ora Amy
Thank you for your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982.
You asked:
I am writing to request information regarding the extent to which the Datix Midland Integrated Quality and
Risk system (used for reporting complaints and incidents) was compromised by the cyber-attack at Waikato
DHB.
I note that Lakes District Health Board, Taranaki DHB, Bay of Plenty DHB and Tairawhiti District Health
Boards all use the same was Datix Midland Integrated Quality and Risk system as Waikato DHB, and some of
these reports, when entered, are automatically sent to the Health Quality & Safety Commission.
The Hauora Tairawhiti response is as follows:
The Datix regional Incident, Quality and Risk system was not impacted as a result of, or during, the Waikato
DHB security incident. From a Hauora Tairāwhiti point of view, our approved users could access the Datix
system without limitation. We are unable to comment on what other DHBs may have experienced.
If you are not satisfied with this response you may contact the Office of the Ombudsmen, phone 0800 802
602.
Please note this response or an edited version of this response may be published on the Hauora Tairāwhiti
DHB website. Your personal/identifying information will be redacted from any responses published. If you
feel that there are good reasons why your response should not be made publicly available, we will be happy
to consider this.
