In response to your request under the Official Information Act, please find our response below:
Request
I am writing to request information regarding the extent to which the Datix Midland Integrated
Quality and Risk system (used for reporting complaints and incidents) was compromised by
the cyber at ack at Waikato DHB.
I note that Lakes District Health Board, Taranaki DHB, Bay of Plenty DHB and Tairawhiti
District Health Boards all use the same was Datix Midland Integrated Quality and Risk system
as Waikato DHB, and some of these reports, when entered, are automatically sent to the
Health Quality & Safety Commission.
Response
The Datix regional Incident, Quality & Risk system was not impacted as a result of, or during,
the Waikato Cyber Security Incident. From a BOPDHB point of view any of our users with
approved access could access the Datix system without limitation. We are unable to comment
on what other DHBs may have experienced.
Bay of Plenty DHB supports the open disclosure of information to assist the public
understanding of how we are delivering publicly funded healthcare. This includes the
proactive publication of anonymised Of icial Information Act responses on our website. Please
