Official information request regarding Rankine Brown doors
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
dated 18 March 2022:
“- When and why did the university decide to change the design of this
doorways?
- Can I please request a copy of all emails/memos/other internal documents
from last year relating to these doors, as well as to this OIA and the Salient
article it influenced?”
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington (the University) received a
recommendation regarding an alternative design from our contractor on 15 September
2021. The University decided to adopt the contractor’s design recommendations due to
the high wind loadings in the area and formally instructed the contractor on the 3
October 2022. Works started in early November and were completed on 25 February
2022.
Documents related to this decision and to your previous information request are
attached. Please note, some information has been withheld in accordance with s9(2)(a) of
the Act in order to protect the privacy of natural persons, and s9(2)(b)(ii) of the Act in
order to protect the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject
of the information.
We are unaware of any information held regarding a Salient article about these doors.
Therefore your request for information related to a Salient article is refused in accordance
with s18(e) of the Act as the information does not exist or cannot be found.
