Tēnā koe John,
Thank you for your email of 17 August 2021 requesting information about Cal aghan Innovation’s Board
Appointments. Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
You have requested:
A. May I kindly request you to provide how you cal  for public expression of interest,
how your recruitment process like for these board positions. Also the pay rate of
your board member.

B. During this recruitment drive, how many applications you have received and how
many you have interviewed. What channel you have used to advertise the
position to general public.

C. The frequency of your board meeting for 2020 and 2021. Ful  Board meeting
minutes from January 2020 to now.
As previously advised in our letter of 25 August 2021, Parts A and B of your request were transferred to
the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) under section 14(b)(i) of the OIA as the
information you are requesting is held by MBIE.

Please find attached Callaghan Innovation’s full Board meeting minutes from January 2020 to July 2021.
Some information has been withheld under the following sections of the Act:

section 9(2)(a), privacy of natural persons;

section 9(2)(ba)(i), obligation of confidence;

section 9(2)(f)(iv), information under active consideration;

section 9(2)(g)(i), free and frank advice;

section 9(2)(j), commercial negotiations; and

section 9(2)(k), improper gain or improper advantage.
As per section 9(1) of the Act, we have also considered whether there are any countervailing public
interest considerations favouring the release of this information. We do not believe such considerations
are present in this case.
