What if the Chief Executive is, or may be involved in the alleged serious wrongdoing or that immediate reference to another authority is justified by reason of the urgency of the matter to which the recent disclosure relates, or some other exceptional circumstances?
You may make your disclosure directly to the following:
*The Controller and Auditor-General
*An Ombudsman
*The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment
Please note you cannnot make your disclosure directly to a Minister of the Crown or Member of Parliament, or to the media and obtain protection under the Act.

* your identity is essential to the effective investigation of the allegations in the disclosure

Once the disclosure is received the Disclosure Officer or Chief Executive is to forward the disclosure to the officer concerned within 2 working days or a response.

Any disclosure will be investigated within 20 working days

The Disclosure Officer has access to all employees of the Council and to all Council documents and records in order to investigate this disclosure.
