Kia ora Joel,

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga remains supportive of the validators being installed.  As noted in our statement, all advice has been provided as part of pre-consent conversations, which have been collaborative and amicable among the various parties involved.  We are still in discussion about a "best" design for colour, location and bulk of the validators so that they enhance this Category 1 historic place, as the project moves toward the next stage with the lodging of a consent application.

Nga mihi

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

I just want to clarify what your position is on the proposed Snapper machines for Wellington Railway Station.

In the email statement you provided, you said you supported the new electronic validation systems being installed.

In the OIA,  Laura Kellaway specifically mentioned the colourways as an issue - "The heritage recommendation is that any new elements, especially intrusive elements, are in the railway station historic colours and recede in prominence – i.e. dark brown, black.”

Does this mean you have withdrawn your opposition to the scanners, or did GWRC change its colourway design to satisfy you?

If you could respond as soon as possible or call me on 0272569697 that would be great so I can get your comment in before tomorrow's paper goes to print.

Thanks
Joel
