14 JULY 2021: OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 
 
In your email received 14 July 2021, you requested the fol owing information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
“Under the Official Information Act, please advise the dates on which you advised your 
minister, other ministers and/or other government agencies about the existence of the 
proposed film project which has developed into the “They Are Us” project. I request just the 
relevant dates.” 
 
The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) has received two requests for information under 
the OIA that ask for al  documents and correspondence in relation to the film project They 
Are Us. These responses have been published on the NZFC website and include the 
chronology of NZFC engagement with Government.  You may access these responses by 
visiting: https://www.nzfilm.co.nz/requests-official-information. 
 
Please be aware that you have the right, by way of complaint to an Ombudsman under 
section 28(3) of the Official Information Act, to seek an investigation and review of our 
response.
