Use of Hikvision / Pyronix hardware within Wel ington Regions 
Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings 
Act 1987 (the Act), received on 13 June 2021.  You requested the fol owing information: 
1. Does the Council use any CCTV cameras produced by Hikvision?
2. Does the Council use any other hardware produced by Hikvision or Pyronix?
3. If any hardware from Hikvision or Pyronix is or was used, could you please tell me when they
were installed and how many if any have been uninstal ed?
4. If any hardware from either Hikvision or Pyronix is used, could you please tell me the number of
units currently in use within the Wel ington and wider Wel ington regions?
5. If any hardware from either Hikvision or Pyronix is used, could you please provide the location/s
of which and describe the capabilities of the hardware or cameras in working order (facial
recognition, standard CCTV, ANPR)?
Wellington City Council (the Council) has refused your request for information. 
The Council is not using any products or service produced by Hikvision or Pyronix. Your request has 
been refused under section 17(g) that the information requested is not held by the local authority 
and the person dealing with the request has no grounds for believing that the information is either 
held by another local authority or connected more closely with the functions of another local 
authority. 
Right of review 
If you are not satisfied with the Council’s response, you may request the Office of the Ombudsman 
to investigate the Council’s decision. Further information is available on the Ombudsman website,
