Hi Liam,

In the meeting with the Mayor this morning, you asked me to confirm whether Darren’s statement at a meeting last night that Johnsonville Line didn’t qualify as a rapid transit corridor is in line with GWRC’s planning documents. This is basically covered in the memo (para 17). It would appear that Darren’s statement was inconsistent with the official documents.

Cheers, Joe

Hi Liam,

Joe H reminded me of the lingering question about whether the cable car is “rapid transit”. The topic is unlikely to come up in tomorrow morning’s meeting, but if it does, the short story is that while the Cable Car appears to meet the ‘rapid transit’ criteria in the NPS-UD, GPS Transport and the One Network Framework (ironically given its 18 kmh speed), no-one has yet classified it as rapid transit. It remains under consideration.

Regards

Andrew

Hi Liam.

Andrew and I have prepared a memo for you following our discussion this morning on the NPS-UD and rapid transit services.

It documents work to date and suggested next steps.
