Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) –Amendment Sought
I refer to your official information request regarding the effects of the closure of Wellington Airport,
which was received by Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) on 2 June 2021.
We are requesting you make an amendment to your request to enable us to respond.
Please note, in line with section 15(1AA) of the OIA, any clarification or amendment of a request is
considered to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for
response.
The first part of your request “Please could you provide all information you may have regarding the
effects on aeromedical transfer of patients caused by Wellington Airport's night-time runway closures
during 2020-201” contains a typo (we assume you mean 2020-2021) and is very broad.
We collect a wide range of information much of which could be considered to be in scope of your
request as it would potentially “relate” to the effect of the airport closures. This information would
include timesheets for people working during the nine month period, multiple costs billed to other
DHBs for aircraft relocation, travel costs for patients and staff etc.
Some of these costs would have been incurred anyway so we would need to go through all the
documentation to work out what can/can’t be attributed to the closures. That would require a
substantial amount of staff time to do.
We are therefore requesting you either withdraw this part of the request or narrow the scope if that is
possible. Please can you reply to this email either with a new request or confirming you wish us to
progress with the request as it stands.
