Thank you for your email of 20 May 2021 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (the 
Ministry), requesting following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
I  request  a  copy  of  each  Acceptable  Solution  and  Verification  Method  compliance  instrument 
documents for fire safety (i.e., the compliance instruments for the C clauses of the Building Code') 
that are no longer current since their introduction, including the first revision of each. 
 
You can find versions of the Acceptable Solution and Verification Methods compliance documents on the 
Ministry’s  website:  www.building.govt.nz/building-code-compliance/c-protection-from-fire/c-clauses-
c1-c6/acceptable-solutions-and-verification-methods/. 
 
As such, your request is refused under section 18(d) of the Act, as the information you have requested is 
publicly available. If you require a version prior to the earliest (2011), please let us know. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision, in accordance
