Information Request – Number of callouts to Nelson College 2011-2021 
 
I refer to your official information request dated 23 April 2021 asking for the following 
information: 
 
“How many callouts have there been to Nelson College located in Nelson in the past 10 
years (2011-2021). 
 
How much has this cost the school (considering most callouts would be false alarms).” 
 
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, I enclose data showing 
callouts attended at Nelson College from 2011-2021. 
 
With regard to your request for costs of the callouts, the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) 
requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after 
the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and 
we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 15 June 
2021. The reason for the extension is that consultations necessary to make a decision on your 
request are such that a proper response to your request cannot reasonably be made within the 
original time limit. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
