I refer to your request dated 21 March 2021, pursuant to the Official Information Act 1982,
seeking:
In 1997/98, the then National Government, via Minister of Transport set up the Roading
Advisory Group, led by Hon Sir Jim McClay to make recommendations on how the roading
network in NZ should be run. I would like pdf copies of all the reports published by this group.”

The following documents fall within the scope of your request and are enclosed:
  Road Reform – The Way Forward
The Roading Advisory Group published an interim report (Road Reform: Interim Report) earlier
in 1997, but the Ministry of Transport does not hold a copy of this. It appears to be held by the
Parliamentary Library in Wellington, so could be requested from them via your local public
library through the interloan system.
The Ministry publishes our OIA responses and the information contained in our reply to you
may be published on the Ministry website. Before publishing we will remove any personal or
identifiable information.
