On Friday 19 March 2021 we received your request for information relating to “
history of blockages that
have required maintenance on sewerage line 562100 between manholes 456789 and 456805 in Silverdale,
Auckland since 1 January 2000.”
Our Response
According to our records, there has been some extensive maintenance activity on the siphon and manholes
at the end of Titan Rd Silverdale. We only have detailed records going back to 2016, noting eight blockage
events in 2016, two in 2017 and five in 2018. A monitored alarm was then installed in the manhole to alert
us of an imminent overflow. From this monitoring, we have maintained the siphon to prevent an overflow,
with only three known overflows since November 2018. The siphon is managed and cleaned on a regulator
frequency when the alarm monitoring indicates maintenance.
