Thank you for your email of 6 October 2020 requesting the fol owing information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
In the documents released under the 02 October 2020 Proactive Release, there is 
mention of a "Firmware Specification" and a "Hardware Specification" for the 
CovidCard (particularly in the Defence Technology Agency's report). I would like to 
request these two documents. 
The Department of Internal Affairs is withholding these two documents in full under section 
9(2)(b)(ii) of the Act, to protect information where making it available would be likely to 
unreasonably prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied the 
information. 
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Act, to seek an investigation and review of this
