I refer to your official information request dated 23 September 2020 asking for a detailed 
breakdown of the costs that Fire and Emergency New Zealand incurred in control ing and 
suppressing a vegetation fire that occurred in Tangoio on 6 January 2020. 
The following table shows a breakdown of the costs associated with the above fire as at the end of 
September 2020.

not employed by Fire and Emergency. They may include forestry company or Department of 
Conservation personnel, and operators of heavy equipment such as diggers, bulldozers, water 
tankers, etc.

Volunteer payments may include reimbursements for mileage, parking, petrol, travel costs or 
meals. 
Employee payments may include payments for overtime, travel reimbursements and salary.
